Pioneer One
A little while ago I wrote about how a TV series could be released on bittorrent and paid for by fans. Well, somebody’s done it – check out Pioneer One.
I read about this last week on TechDirt, but it took me a few days to get around to downloading and watching it. My impression – absolutely brilliant. More please – I’ve donated already. I frankly don’t care how much this cost to make, the pilot reminded me of a good episode of X-files – great TV. If it only takes a few thousand of us to put our hands in our pockets for less than the cost of a DVD, and that gets us away from the mass produced tripe of ‘reality’ TV then this is my future of TV.
Now then… I don’t really want theme tunes or deleted scenes (I never really bother with DVD extras type stuff). Some cool merch would be a different matter altogether though.
