Pi Chimney

30Aug12

The release bundles and image files that I’ve been hosting at openelec.thestateofme.com have proven very popular, with something in the region of 1TB/month of downloads. Since I know people have created scripts that use that URL I’m going to leave it alone. For anybody wanting updates on these builds then I created an RSS feed and if you’d like to get an email when there’s a new build then sign up here.

As I’ve been trying other things with the Raspberry Pi, like OpenELEC PVR builds and TVHeadend, people have been asking for places to download relevant stuff. That place is now here – resources.pichimney.com. Please have a poke around and let me know what else you’d like to see there?

    Hi Chris.
Nice work. Could you please write a guide to creating an IMG file with the DEV builds PI Chimney Resources has on its site?

I would also like to know what do they have compared to the Official Images.

    Thank you!

    • Making IMG files from the dev builds is pretty straightforward, as there’s a create_sd card script in there that can take parameters to build an image file rather than write directly to an actual SD card. I also wrote up the scripts I used to make image files back before we had official builds and images to go with them.

The github commit log for OpenELEC will show you what’s going on in the dev builds (and hence what they have that’s different from the official builds).
